Yesteryear Collection



The 'Maples' issue was released as part of the 1985 Father's day gift set of three models which included the (Y11-3) Lagonda and the (Y25-1) Renault Van 'Duckhams Oil'.
It was in the livery of London General and the front destiation blind read 'Dollis Hill' although it still had Picadilly Circus on the rear.
Only 40.000 sets were made for worldwide sales.

Livery: (Labels)
Front Destination Boards:
'TO DOLLIS HILL' in red with 'EDGWARE RD', 'MARYLEBONE RD', 'TOTTENHAM CT RD', 'CHARING + WATERLOO BRIDGE' and 'ELEPHANT', in black print on white background over 'MAPLES' in white on green.
Stairway Advertising Panel:
'HORLICKS THE ORIGINAL MALTED MILK', 'OXO', 'CEREBOS' and 'Picadilly Circus' all on a diagonal label in white, red and blue.
Side Upper Panels:
'MAPLES' in white with black surround, 'ARTISTIC FURNITURE' in white on green background on both sides.
Side Lower Panels: (Tampo)
'GENERAL' in gold on both sides.

Variations/Rarities: There were no variations apart from the shades of red of the upper body and stairs.

Interesting Facts: Maples were a London based furniture maker and retailer.
